May Newsletter for Sunshine Farm Girl Co-op
Dear Sunshine Farm Girl Co-op Members,
Letter from Marsha:
In anticipation of May being a spectacular month for the co-op, in terms of potential growth. I put together my thoughts to you in this month's newsletter.
Did you notice all the new features that's been added to make the newsletter interactive? Each month you will find new and useful tips, projects, contests and more. So be sure to check it each month so you don't miss any of the cool happenings.
I'm recovering from oral surgery I had on April 1st. I sure could use some cheerful thoughts. So send in your funny stories and precious moments for me to read and lift my spirits.
I have lots of support through prayer and reading my Bible daily, which empowers me through God's holy spirit. Then, there's my family ever devoted by my side. Not to mention my loving and caring friends.
I'm sure it will be a speedy recovery with all that help behind me. Having to deal with this surgery brings me to the scripture of the month.
Scripture of the Month:
2 Corinthians 4:16-18- "Therefore we do not give up, but even if the man (woman) we are outside is wasting away, certainly the man (woman) we are inside (spiritually) is being renewed from day to day. 17: For though tribulation is momentary and light, it works out for us a glory that is of more and more surpassing weight and is everlasting. 18:while we keep our eyes not on the things seen, but on the things unseen. For the things seen are temporary, but the things unseen are everlasting.
Budget Saving Health Recipe
Tips: Healthy Soda Alternative- find great recipes on my blog on how to make a great tasting healthy soda for you and the kids.
Want a great soda alternative for you and the kids? This is a great way to get them off all that sugar and drinking something that is actually good for them and tastes good too.
Here's what you'll need:
Seltzer water
Agave flavored nectar
Stevia flavored natural herb sweetener (not for pregnant women)
Watkins flavored extracts

You can also find my paper quilt greeting cards for sale. Having one on hand to use as a guide when making your own is very helpful.

Voluntary Donations
Announcing: "Charity Corner"- A new addition to the co-op. This is our opportunity to give to those less fortunate than ourselves. Just click on the charity link on the homepage to find out how you can help.
Member Discounts
Member Perks: Frequent buyer program- Become a frequent customer in the Sunshine Market with Jeanpatch by MK and Reflections of Kayla. When you make your 10th purchase you will receive a $10 gift certificate to spend in either of their shops.
Recipe of the Month:
Gluten Free Breakfast Muffins
2 cups gluten free flour or wheat flour
1/2 cup potato starch flour
4 organic eggs
1 cup organic unsweetened coconut milk
1 teaspoon Watkins organic vanilla extract
1 teaspoon carob powder
Mix together all ingredients in a large bowl with a hand mixer until blended. Grease a muffin pan and fill each cup 1/2 full.
Bake on 355 degree oven for 25 minutes or until done.
Yummy variations, instead of vanilla extract you can use any of Watkins other natural extracts like Cherry, Almond, Banana and more!
Member Tip of the Month: Planet Earth Remedies
RECIPE: TEA TREE MOLD SPRAY: a powerful antiseptic and also has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Tea tree oil can be used as a cleanser in the home and has been shown to inhibit the growth of mold. When combined with borax, another mold-inhibitor, you have a spray that can be used frequently to discourage the growth of mold in such areas as the bathroom. Use this spray on your shower surround and on shower curtains, as well as upon any other areas that might be susceptible to developing mold.
You can buy Spring Valley 2 ounce Tea Tree at Walmart (a great buy for $8.00 ) or if you hate Walmart you can pay more and buy from a health store. At Walmart it's at the vitamin section on the bottom shelf - they always stock it.
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons borax
1 cup warm water
10 drops essential oil of clove
1 teaspoon tea tree oil
Spray bottle
Dissolve the borax in warm water that you have poured into the spray bottle. Add the essential oil of clove and the tea tree oil to the mixture. Shake well before using. Spray on the areas you wish to treat and allow to dry. Do not rinse.

Well that's a wrap for this month's co-op news. I hope you will put all the topics to use and try new things we've suggested.
Many Blessings,
Marsha

Flea Market Bargain Barter Days!!!
Happy Sunday Everyone!!!!
What do you like doing on the weekends? Finding a good bargain at garage sales, flea markets and thrift stores is what I like to do to relax on the weekends!!!
We hunt and dip through all the bins and stacks of items to find that perfect one that will be upcycled into a work of art. Right now I'm looking for tins to put our note card sets in and decorative boxes to alter into beautiful treasure boxes to put my altered books in that we sell on my co-op website.
To get you started in this flea market bargain barter day, I've tagged my barter items on my Vintage 50s Treasure shop on Etsy. Just go to my shop and see what you'd like to barter for and then send me a message telling me what you have to trade me in return. http://www.vintage50streasures.etsy.com/
This is how it works! You add the cost of the item with the shipping and that is how much I'll barter back for in return. You make the regular purchase just as you would but instead of paying you click on "other" and send me what we agree to barter on.
I like anything that is organic and sustainable, useful and fun!!! Just tell me what you have to barter and I'll pick what I want for what you want, easy as 1,2,3!!!!
**********************************************************************
I leave you with this encouraging scripture of the day.
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life nor angels nor governments nor things now here nor things to come nor powers nor height nor depth nor any other creation will be able to separate us from God's love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord". Romans 8: 38, 39
Have a Blessed and Happy Day!
