We took a large ceramic bowl found at a local garage sale and turned it into a bird bath. Just take an old plastic planter and invert it and glue the bowl to the bottom of the planter. Place it in a shady spot for birds to come to. Wash it weekly with warm soap and water and rinse well. Then refill it with fresh water.
Here is our home made bird feeder. I took an old bowl and tied it in the middle to hold the feed.
